Since other sales sites cover this type of news much better, I am just putting this out there in case someone missed it.  Anyway, looks like the traditional Black Friday sale in north America is happening a bit earlier than expected.  So, for those readers in the NA area, the retailer Best Buy is having some early BF sales.  A few of the Orion Spectrum  using Rom-G switch keyboards are on sale with very reasonable asking price.  So if you are in the market for one, enjoy!  Oh, some gaming mice and headphones are also on sale.

One of my favorite sources for Topre switch based keyboard has been mechanicalkeyboards.com.  I just found out that they are offering 3 limited editions for Type Heaven.  Type Heaven is basically a more economical minded keyboard Topre manufactured to address the concern that Realforce keyboards are too expansive.  However, if someone is interested, this is a good place to experience a Topre switch keyboard without spending too much.  Too much being relative, of course.

PSA: Updates about Ducky Channel's Topre Realforce keyboards

I think this is too good to keep to myself.  Please see my blog post update on "Special Topre Keyboards up for preorder".  In a nut-shell, this is a rare production run of Topre Realforce with silenced switch.  MechanicalKeyboards.com didn't highlight this and I totally missed it until I looked at it more carefully.

I kind of stopped posting about sales and specials because there are so many and other folks do much superior jobs than I would.  However, this one is rather unique not to say anything.  Mechanicalkeyboards.com is offering Ducky Channel's 104-UB DK Realforce keyboard for pre-order.  The keyboards probably won't ship until late January of 2016 at the earliest.  So, I think they are trying to gauge the volume.

In any case, their offering is rather unusual.  Ducky Channel also happens to be one of Topre's distributors as I have posted before.  However, Ducky doesn't just sell the board, they seems to like to offer something that's different from the mainstay just to make things interesting.  This is one of the reasons that I really do appreciate Ducky Channel. They are just so eccentric sometimes.  Anyway, the 104UB from Ducky comes with 2 different flavors.  One with uniform 45g weights and another with 30g.  First, there's an ANSI version of a 104 keys Realforce with uniform 30g, but it is extremely difficult to find outside of Japan.  Thus, this is definitely a rare bird, err...  I mean duck.  For 45g version, there are a few more options, but again, they are difficult to source outside of Japan, Korea or Taiwan.  So, if you are itching to get your hands on one of 104 keys Topre keyboards with uniform weights in the West, this is indeed a good opportunity.

1/4/16 Update:  Looks like they are in stock.  So, I was wrong about the late January date.  It showed up in the online-store early.  What a pleasant surprise.  I like being wrong in this instance then.  :)

1/6/16 Update:  How could I miss this...  According to the SKU, these two keyboards are the silenced (purple cap, not black) version.  I think this is the only ANSI 104 version with silenced Topre switches that I am aware of.  So, this wasn't just a rerun of XF11R0 (104UB-DK), but new models with silenced switches, XF31RS and XF01RS (104UB-DK30S and 104UB-DK45S).  This just keep getting better and better....

Back to school sale: Das Keyboard 4C Professional

Metadot is having a back to school sale for Das Keyboard 4C Professional.  The 4C Professional keyboard is Metadot's attempt at now popular ten-keyless format rather than the traditional full size keyboard.  The 4C is available with either brown or blue switch.  However, please note that these are not Cherry MX switches, rather they are Greetech's MX clones.  Some people thought Greetech's clone worked fine while others see that the clone is simply not as refined as the original Cherry MX.  So, buyers beware.

I don't know how long the sale will last.  So, if you are in the market for one, now is a pretty good time to buy.  You can catch the sale here at Das Keyboard's online shop.  Enjoy!

Some Topre and Ducky Channel keyboards on sale at NCIX US and Canada

NCIX's US store is have a sale for Topre keyboards.  So, if you are in the US and are looking to try a Topre switch keyboard, this is a good chance to sample it since it's rare that Topre keyboard goes on sale.  Type Heaven is on sale for $125 USD.  Realforce 104UB black version (XF11T0) is on sale for $162 USD and Realforce 104U white version (XF01T0) for $170.  I believe the Canadian HQ store is also having similar sales event as well.

NCIX is also Ducky Channel's distributor in the US and Canada. Thus, they have numerous Ducky Shine series on sale as well.  Check out the US sales page and Canadian sales page for more information.   The sale ends June 24th.

Another day, another mechanical keyboard goes on sale

I guess if I start paying enough attention, there bound to be some sale out there for mainstream mechanical keyboards pretty much every week in the US market.  This one for some reason caught my attention.  Monoprice is hawking their new backlit mechanical gaming board for $70 US dollars through their Rakuten store front.  I think it has free shipping too.  The deal ends 5/14/15.  This one comes with Cherry MX red switches.  So, maybe that's why it sort of jumped out at me.  It has 2 port USB hub, audio headset and mic jacks.  (These audio plugs are probably just extensions judging by the posted images.)  So, if one fancies a linear switch, this one might fit the bill.
